Following a recent survey of UKRN institutions, UKRN have identified a range of training priorities and resources aimed at accelerating the uptake of high quality open research practices. Although many high-quality resources exist within UKRN institutions, only 10.5% of total resources are available open access. Several gaps were identified in existing training resources, three of which have been identified as being of high value to institutions and related to academic incentive structures. Training relies largely on university services delivered online. The first working paper from the UKRN ORP with recommendations on achieving our goals is now published.  Read the working paper.

We are delivering a coordinated set of ‘train-the-trainer’ activities, in order to provide sustainable and scalable training capacity at UK institutions across a range of open research practices, academic and professional roles.
