From Data to Metadata: Ensuring reproducibility in biomedical research

22/10/2020 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Please note we’re no longer accepting registrations for this event

A half-day online workshop hosted by the UK Reproducibility Network and the University of Bristol with speakers from the University of Oxford, Arctoris Ltd, and the Young Academy of the German National Academy of Sciences.

Reproducibility is the cornerstone of scientific progress. Yet, it has been shown that a majority of biomedical research findings are not reproducible. This is increasingly recognised as a priority for coordinated action from all stakeholders. The online workshop will focus on the best ways to capture fully annotated data including metadata and making them FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable). Experts in the space will discuss the underlying frameworks as well as practical applications and current trends. This interactive workshop is designed to foster connections between different stakeholders, and enable sharing of best practices in a rapidly evolving field. Special emphasis will be also be put on aspects of Open Science.
