3 December: Electronic Lab Notebooks: best practice for data/metadata retention
Content overview
Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs) are software systems that are used for the accurate documentation of research processes. They support immediate capture of the relevant data and metadata, which promotes FAIR and transparent data sharing and reproducible methods.
This course will provide a best practice seminar about ELNs delivered by a subject expert then support you to develop your own seminar or training session.
Training type
This is a train-the-trainer course. It contains a section on pedagogy to assist you in developing your own local training.

The participant will be supported to develop their own training on the use of Electronic Lab Notebooks

This course would be suitable for researchers, technicians, and research managers who want to promote best practice.

Intermediate
Prerequisite skills, expertise and experience
Attendees will be presenting this to others, this course requires an in-depth knowledge of the research workflow and required documentation. Experience of supporting others and managing projects would be useful.
Overall likely time commitment
Approx. 1 hours prior to the session familiarising themselves with resources, 6 hours in the course, then time after the course to complete their presentation.
